October - November 2016

In a highly controversial election year, T.B. Scott Free Library’s current Community ArtShare display is both timely and interesting.

For a second year, historical and patriotic dioramas will be displayed on the library’s second floor through early November.  New displays will be switched in every other week, to keep the exhibit fresh and new.

Each diorama displays 12-inch dolls clad in authentic period dress, and depicts scenes that describe patriotic events in our nation’s colorful history.  Books and videos corresponding to each historical tableau are displayed with each exhibit.

Among the historical scenes depicted is Benjamin Franklin, whose library can lay claim to being a predecessor of Free Public Libraries in the United States.

The displays are sponsored by Electronic and Computer Solutions, LLC of Wausau.  Hours of research, construction and careful purchasing have gone into producing these memorable re-creations.

Please visit the library to view this exhibit and all the wondrous things our library has to offer.  T. B. Scott Free Library’s “Beyond Books: Community ArtShare” features a new exhibit every two months on an ongoing basis.  The program was made possible by a $10,000 grant from the Mead Witter Foundation, Inc. of Wisconsin Rapids.
